# About paqu.io

> A small independent studio building form tooling that works where the signal doesn't.

paqu is short for *paqucha*, Quechua for alpaca. It seemed like the right mascot: alpacas are calm, mildly stubborn, and built for thin air and long distances. We're a small herd, working remotely, on tools meant to keep running a long way from the nearest server.

Everything we make comes back to one problem. Forms are how most real-world data actually gets collected, and most tools treat them as an afterthought: hardcoded, painful to change, and useless the moment the network drops. A form should be **described as data, not rewritten as code** every time a question changes.

## How the two fit together

form0 is **MIT licensed and free, and stays that way**. It's the whole engine, not a crippled version of something else. reform is the hosted platform built on it, for teams who'd rather not run any of this themselves.

## How we work

- **Small on purpose.** Whoever answers support also writes the code.
- **Open by default.** The engine is public, the roadmap is public, and the issues are where the real conversation happens.
- **Built for the field.** Offline isn't an edge case we handle later, it's the starting assumption.
