# Hello from paqu.io

> A short introduction to the studio, the two products, and what will end up on this blog.

This is the first post, so it should probably explain what this is.

paqu.io is a small independent studio. paqu is short for _paqucha_, Quechua for
alpaca, which is the animal in the logo and roughly the pace we work at.

## Two products

[form0](https://form0.dev) is an open-source form engine. A JSON schema
describes a form's fields, its conditional visibility, its validation and its
calculations, and the engine evaluates all of it anywhere JavaScript runs: a
browser, a phone, a server, a CLI. It is MIT licensed and free, and that is not
a trial period.

[reform](https://reformapp.io) is the hosted platform built on that engine, for
teams collecting data in places where the network is a rumour. Surveys,
inspections and assessments that keep working offline and sync when they can.

The short version: if you want to run it yourself, form0 is the whole thing. If
you would rather not run anything, reform is there.

## What will end up here

Notes from building those. Design decisions that were harder than they looked,
things that turned out to be wrong, and the occasional release worth
explaining. When we get something wrong we would rather write about it than
quietly patch it.

What this will not be is a marketing channel. There are better places to read
about features, starting with the docs.
